The Rutgers Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) Residency Program

There is a nationwide shortage of board-certified occupational and environmental medicine (OEM) physicians, with job openings far outpacing the number of new graduates. OEM offers a fulfilling medical career, marked by low burnout rates and diverse professional opportunities.

Rutgers’ OEM residency program is actively recruiting qualified candidates—particularly those with prior ACGME-accredited clinical training. Though technically a residency, the program functions similarly to a fellowship and gives preference to applicants with primary care backgrounds, while also considering those who have completed at least an internship year.
